Microwave Shoe Cabinet
The Shoe Cabinet: I had the initial idea to remix Chinese Industrial Production and ready-made concepts, but finally I arrived to this one! The initial inspiration of this design came when I was working at Japan, as it is customarily for Japanese to take out their shoes when entering homes and put them neatly. Later I have found out that shoe cabinets were one of the forgotten objects; they were always built for the purpose without any design consideration, I wanted to add some humor and feeling to these function oriented objects. At first I had the initial idea to remix Chinese industrial production methods with ready-made concepts, but finally I arrived to this particular design after seeing a microwave ad. The cover will open when you push the button, just like in microwaves..

How to Produce: Metal: Realise from solid cut metal bended by machine and then pressed, or in wood. The zigzag pattern could be glass..

Possible Materials: The designer noted the following materials could be used in production: Metal, Plastic, Glass.
